I found the rectangular particle board sheet on the beach of Vancouver Island somewhere, a long time ago. I thought and think its a boat’s hatchway cover you would slide in place in rough weather at sea. I have a practice of adhering cut pieces of cloth tape in primary colours, to found materials. Much later I solved the harder part of how to display the tape-marked rectangle. It resembled a globe, and I thought the idea could be that the flotsam found resting on the beach after floating for maybe days or weeks at sea could be the earth as understood by persons who believe the earth is flat.
